An original painted with no date. Marian told me it was painted in 1978, making it my oldest work by her.
When I first saw Marian's photo of this image, I could hardly believe my eyes. It is definitely one of my personal favorites. I am truly fortunate to be able to enjoy this one, especially as an original.
From the US Audubon Society website: "A member of the Hawaiian honeycreeper family (Drepanididae) that has evolved to fill the niche occupied by woodpeckers in many other parts of the world. Endangered and found only on the island of Hawaii."
